Northburn Station – Tasting Notes

2021 Pinot Noir - $40

This is the second vintage of Northburn Pinot Noir off the new site. The 2021 vintage was excellent for Pinot Noir with small bunches averaging 110gm. The fruit was harvested early in the day to ensure it arrived cool into the winery. Stainless steel fermentation followed with new oak staves to provide subtle oak tannins. The finished wine is full bodied with ripe cherry and bracken flavours. As with all Northburn wines, it is unfiltered and unfined to retain as much flavour and complexity as possible. Thus, it will in time develop a harmless sediment. We advise racking or careful pouring after standing upright prior.
